Men and Acne: The right Face Care for You

by Martha Fitzharris

A lot of men still think that face care is something that only women do. Nothing could be further from the truth. As a matter of fact, taking care of your skin is just as important as taking care of any part of your body, for both women AND men.

Keep reading to find out how men should take of their skin, especially if they have acne. However, if you rather find out about how to maintain a basic skin care routine then you should find out your skin type and then learn to take care of.

Acne Treatment for Men

Sometimes it seems like women are more susceptible to acne than men, at least that's what the media leads you to believe. But this doesn't mean that men should avoid the basic hygiene rules that apply to both men and women. As a matter of fact, men should take extra special care with the following points to keep acne breakouts to a minimum.

Precaution N° 1

Don't be careless when shaving. This daily activity will not give you acne but it can cause ingrown hairs that can become infected. That is why you should always shave in the direction of the hair's growth to reduce the chance of getting ingrown hairs.

Do not rush yourself when shaving. By rushing you are risking the chance of nicking acne bumps and breaking the skin. This will be detrimental to the healing process.

Always use enough shaving lotion to soften your facial hairs and a sharp razors to shave. You can try washing your face with a mild facial soap before shaving to help soften the skin and hair. Once you are done, apply an after shave cream instead of a liquid to help moisturize your skin.

Precaution N° 2

Don't forget to use the right cosmetics on your skin. No! It's not a misprint. You should also use cosmetics. But by cosmetics I don't mean lip stick and blush, I am actually referring to after-shave lotions, moisturizing and acne creams.

Another similarity to female skin care is that men should also steer clear of facial products that contain alcohol. Considering the fact that most men shave on a regular basis, using a harsh product on their face is just one more irritant they'll have to worry about. So in order to reduce the amount of skin irritants, men should carefully select products that don't contain alcohol or fragrances.

Precaution N° 3

Another factor that contributes to bad skin is picking at your acne bumps and scabs. Don't pick at your skin blemishes! All you are doing is prolonging the healing process and increasing your chances of developing acne scars.

Why would you maintain a habit that only makes things worse? If you continue you'll only end up having to pay for scar treatments and scar removal. So, keep your hands off of your face and maintain a routine of acne prevention.

Guys, you may have been taught to think that no man worries about his skin or face care unless he's into girly things, but whomever taught you that probably has more skin issues than you can ever imagine.

Acne is an embarrassing and bothersome problem for you too. But, if you really need treatment there are many products out there that can help you deal with it.

Natural products, just like BIOSKINCLEAR, BIOACNECARE and BIOSKINFORTE are an excellent and safe way to deal with your acne problems. Nevertheless, if your acne has led to acne scars, then you should use BIOSKINCARE. This natural product is specially created for acne scars treatment and can help in aiding acne scar removal.
