pectin gel is formulated as a liquid, which is poured into the provided petri dishes where
it solidifies and is virtually indistinguishable from a standard prepoured petri dish used

- Pour Plate test ... just pour pectin gel into petri dish and replace dish lid. Swirl
liquid to cover the dish bottom evenly and it will gel. Then expose collection medium to
room air for one hour. Cover and scotch tape collection dish and place in warm darken area
for 3-5 days (closet shelf or dresser drawer is ideal). View results and compare with photos and test results tips on this page.
- HVAC vent output testing is done the same way but only
expose culture gel dish to air vent air for 1 minute. Cover and place in darken area.
- Swab Plate test.... Take 2 sterile cotton Q-tip swabs and be sure not to touch testing
side tips. Dip Q- tips in pectin liquid Easygel®
bottle and squeeze off excess on side of bottle. Swab a small section of suspect room
surfaces, HVAC vent louvers, bathroom tile or surface that collects air born dust.
Immediately place Q-Tips inside Easygel® bottle
and stir. If need be rub bottle sides to remove swab surface contaminants. The pour bottle
contetns into a petri dish and cover as above for 3-5 days.
